Description

I figure it's been long enough since I last submitted a picture of these three together.

Their story, as it stands, is difficult to keep up with. Between fighting, going crazy, getting back sanity, breaking bones, moving homes, beating our inner demons and running through hell and back to see how far it is, it's a miracle that these three have any time to just sit down and have a calming cup of coffee.

These three are an interesting triad. There's some stuff between them that makes you cry, and some that makes you laugh, and some where you can't help but get caught up in their frustration. Of course, I only really see it from Monarch's perspective, and she's not exactly the most stable role to play. She's only really just managed to get over her hatred of Fibra and get over her own jealousy issues, and it hasn't been very easy considering she disliked him more than anyone else in the universe for a long time 9.9 Finding ways to get around these problems is what makes roleplaying interesting and really painful sometimes, hah.

Anyway, I had better stop writing before I get carried away with emotional bullshit XD

Alrighty! v v I'll give my very first critique a shot. *knuckle crack*

I think I'll go character by character then the overall composition...starting with Monarch. Monarch...turned out fantastically. Her face is very gentle and subtle, and as usual your shading is soft and realistic. I'm impressed with her hand too-the one holding the cup. I probably wouldn't have drawn it that realistic. ;; The cup itself could have looked a little more like a coffee cup but hey, that's just me...it looks PERFECTLY fine when it's simple. I like how her sweater is baggy in some parts, but you can also tell her body type by looking at it. I love her jeanssssss and ..leg warmer...w/e they are. Her boots turned out really nice too---that foot angle is hard to draw right, but do-able--and you pulled it off.

Moving onto Fibra. I looooove how he turned out--in fact this is probably my favorite picture of him by you I've seen. I love how you drew his face--and that beret! Haha! Now I'm tempted to draw him in it. That's the only thing he was missing to look like he really did fit into a French cafe. His pose is great and so are both hands, especially the one at his lap--though the one holding the cup seems a bit...hmm...squished? Like, his knuckles should be more prominent at that angle, or you put the bump in slightly the wrong place. Great shading on the jeans and the couch/chair. :'D

Now for Queen...eeeh I see a few problems with her, the biggest one is her face. Queen has a much longer, narrower, less soft face and neck--hardened Spartan, remember? It's not quite right. But...you did a great job on her shirt, and the transition from shirt to pants, and I love the jacket and pose you gave her. Oh! And her hand! Again, great job on her hand! Those are probably the most impressive parts of this pic.

Now overall. The picture turned at an angle was a great effect, and so are the overall colors and tones of that gentle coffee-brown. I'm assuming you used a filter for that, but if not I would be very impressed. ;D It's a neat, creative effect making the 'steam' from the coffee look that abstract, but it doesn't quite fit into the rest of the pic. I think more realistic steam would have fit a lot better.

Lastly, the steam lines/curls in the foreground sort of get to me. They are, again, a cool effect, but I think they interfere with the characters too much, even if it is subtle..but again that's just me. I really like the ideas for their glasses as well.

OH one more thing----you REALLY NEED TO LOOK AT FIBRA'S ANTENNAE. You and Diablo ALWAYS draw them wrong! |D;; You give the middle one one extra kink and the longer ones aren't quite proportioned right. The middle one is a "mutant", extra antennae, therefore it's stunted. Just a little reminder. A very loud little reminder.

Overall, great job.
