MAY I DREAM?

Oh how I long to dance within the moonlight chords,
Tremble within the snows of hope and shiver with tender excitement.
But in this world I am fettered by chains of despair;
I lie alone within the cells of my binding thoughts.

DREAMING IS AN ILLUSION OF THE MIND.

I wish to taste a wisp of sliver mist,
Sample the honeyed boughs of sunlight through the trees.
But this world is cruel and deluding,
Within my binding thoughts I remain caged.

IT WILL NOT END WHEN I WAKE.

Dancing upon the winds of the butterflies,
Lilting with those who sail the seas.
My bonds I fear are iron;
I remain captured by thoughts beyond my own will.

IT STILL TWISTS AND TURNS, LIFE WITHIN SUBCONCIOUSNESS.

Within this place I become a rotting corpse,
I feel my voice begin to wane and disappear,
My binding thoughts are choking, strangling,
And will suck me into the depths where there is no light to see.

BUT AT LEAST I CAN STILL DREAM.

To be honest, I don't really know all that much about Vocaloid. To me it sorta sounds like a Japanese version of Garageband mixed with the Gorillaz. Never paid all that much attention to them. Then tonight, I just found a piece of fan art and decided to find out what all this was really about. Well, I wasn't really all that fussed until I heard this [link]

Fuck. I'm converted.


So anyway, this piece is a total mixup of everything. And I mean everything. Holy crap, is there no filter I did not try out at least once on this? I don't even know anymore. I think this may have been Monarch when I originally started but you can't tell around the costume (The headpiece is inspired by the 2004 WOW winner 'Binding Thoughts'. Really striking and mildly disturbing garment.). I am for some reason both happy and unhappy with this piece. I can't make my mind up as to which.


For some reason I can definitely see a character like this turning up some time during Betwixt. Some kind of freakish side of Monarch representing her own repression of her thoughts, the parts that she keeps locked away and tries to never think about- emotions even, that she refuses to make use of. I think everyone has someone like this in their thoughts, but I guess some are worse than others.

Yes, I think I will now dub this character 'The Repressed'.
